2025 NBA Draft Prospect Evaluation Model V2
Taking a look at some updated rankings this Algorithm has generated
A few weeks ago, I wrote about the NBA Draft Prospect Model I have been working on. This algorithm utilizes all of a player’s stats per game and assigns a numerical value to their “rating”; overall giving an unbiased judgement on a plyer evaluation. If you would like to read a full breakdown on how this rating was devised find the full article below:
Note: I will continue to update the above article as I will use it as the base model for all the data that is inputted, as well as all of the rankings I have.
This model updates with a prospects real time stats as the season progresses. Initially Bogolijub Markovich had a very good rating up near 100 but his lackluster performances as of late have put his rating down to a 79. Probably much more realistic for him even though most mock drafts have him going in the mid 2nd Round, I think his value could be much higher than that. This model also gives Noah Penda no love and I believe he’ll be a late first round pick. The most interesting two prospects on this list in my opinion are Sergio De Larrea and Bogolijub Markovich, their rating is vastly outranking their current Mock Draft Position on most peoples’ Big Boards, so I see these guys as high value picks. Just so this doesn’t look like it favors some of the guys I am a fan of I don’t see Alex Toohey as an intriguing prospect at all, but his rating suggests he could be a decent player, I will be staying away from the 21-year-old come draft time.
Typically, I try to only work with International prospects because I find them as more of a challenge to evaluate but in the next version, I may add a bunch of college prospects into this model to rank them against the International Prospects I already have loaded in.
